Inspiring Ceremony Ideas
Spiritual - Secular - Alternative - Faith Based
Today's couples seek new and exciting ways to express their love using symbolism and engagement. They want personalized rituals that demonstrate and symbolize their love and commitment to each other.
DC&C's team of professional, fun, expert officiants perform these rituals beautifully.
Below are some of the most popular among many choices.

Handfasting
Dating back to the early 1600s, this Celtic tradition demonstrates the fasting together of two sets of hands, symbolizing unity and promises for a lifetime of love and commitment. Handfasting is the most common ritual DC&C officiants perform, and uses either a single, or multiple, cords, ropes, or ribbons - each representing a promise the couple makes to each other.

Love Letter/Wine/Box
For this ritual, couples are asked to choose a box and a bottle of wine. Then, they are instructed to write, and seal, a love letter, before the wedding, to their soon-to-be spouse. Finally, the couple places the letters and the wine in the box where it will remain for the next five years. On the couple's fifth wedding anniversary, they open the box, drink the wine, and transport themselves back to their wedding day.

Ring Warming
This ritual, originated in Ireland, involves passing the couple's wedding bands to a collection of guests. When each guest receives the ring, they "warm" it in their hands while infusing it with prayers, good wishes, and positive energy. After all guests have "warmed" the ring, the officiant receives the rings back and continues the ring ceremony.

The Sand Ceremony
A popular wedding ritual is the sand ceremony where the couple each pours sand from individual containers into a larger container, in a demonstration of unity. DC&C officiants have adapted this ritual for couples who would like to combine glass frit, alcohol, or anything else they can think of!
